Peter---I've seen illustrations of leveling cars (mostly to check corner
weights, but would be good for your purposes) that included driving up
onto one foot sections of plywood. Add enough to level the car at the
four corners. Laser level devices would be good here. Second best might
be string alignment with bubble levels.
