Mike, in case you want to find the leak on your original float, put it in a
fridge for several hours, then take it out and hold it down under hot water.
You'll see small bubbles coming out of the leak.

Mike,

My float sank to the bottom about a month ago so I'm in the same boat. I
have a spare original plastic one, but I wonder if the new 10% ethanol fuel
is somehow making the plastic brittle. Anyway, I was told on another forum
that Ford part COAZ9202-B (for an 80s Ranger Pick up truck) will work. I
haven't gotten one yet, but a Google search got multiple hits. Apparently
this one is made of brass.

Has anyone else had their plastic float visit Davey Jones locker since the
ethanol introduction?
