I have suggested that folks from up here in the Northlands avoid Kansas City
altogether on trips to Topeka. It's a nice drive through Saint Joseph and
Athchison anyway. The distance is the same or a little less. The traffic
is virtually non-existent. There are no toll roads. The country is
probably the prettiest in Kansas.
None of this is meant to imply that you couldn't get a fancy race rig stolen
in just about any community in North America if you were unlucky enough.
