Agreed that anodizing is the way to go. I suggest (if someone does not
find a specific source) of just opening up the yellow pages and find
metal finishers that do anodizing. I have done this in San Diego, and
found a company that apologozed for charging me some min fee, but it was
reasonable.
You may be able to slip your bar into someone else's batch of work if
you asked nicely and brought in a sixpack or two. I bet the local
rice..er...race shops have connections also for those big anodized
custom intake pipes.
