This tire warming subject ran just prior to the Nationals and there were
several comments on people attempting to warm their tires in past Nationals
by wrapping the base of their cars with the engine running. The commentary
said these tire warming efforts were abandoned when the threat of protest was
given.
I heard rumors that at the Nationals this year quite a few competitors were
wrapping the base of their cars and leaving the cars running. Was there any
discussion at the Nationals about protesting these kind of tire warming
procedures? Did Howard Duncan have any input on these attempts at tire
warming?
