I am curious about the views expressed.  Among the makes of car I have
owned are Ford(UK and Germany),Jag,Austin,Fiat,Vauxhall and Dutton.  I have
found other peoples smoke devices to be as prone to leak as Mr Lucas'.
(Perhaps, as I am yet to own any Yank iron, over the pond you use a different
grade of smoke?)

Regarding UK motorbikes, the oil leaks are part of the design - they stop
the rear end of the bike rusting!
