        It used to be that adding leaded reg to unleaded prem would boost
it quite a bit.  This was because the response curve of octane to lead is
non-linear - a little lead versus none makes a big difference, but continuing
to add lead produces less and less gain.  Given that leaded regular has
almost no lead in it anymore, this doesn't work too well anymore, since the
base stock of the regular isn't as good as the unleaded premium stock.
You might get a point or two, or might lose a point or two.  Probably would
be about a wash.  Try it - even if you can't advance your ignition any more
than before, at least you're getting _some_ lead to the valves, and even a
little is a lot better for them than none.
