        Well the latest "feature" of my car is a rear wheel bearing that needs
        replacing. Unfortunately this is something the home DIYer cannot do so
        it's booked in at the garage a fortnight today.

You might call The Roadster Factory and see if they can sell you a
rebuilt rear hub assembly. They do for the big TRs for just this reason
-- might be cheaper than getting a garage to do the work on the clock.
