Orchard Supply Hardware will happily sell you most of the fasteners you need,
including Grade 8, for a much more reasonable price than mail order from Moss.
Buy the 1/2" washers, nuts and nylocs by the box, you'll save money in the long
run.
But wait, aren't you in the LA area? If so, you're in fastener heaven -- there
are bunches of places there that have surplus (but new) aero grade hardware
(like, grade 8 bolts pre drilled for safety wire...) Pick up a copy of Carroll
Smith's "Prepare to Win", or the new book (I can only remember "Screw to Win",
but it's really named something much more mundane with "fasteners" in the
title) -- there's a list of suppliers in the back, and half are in southern
California.
