When I first joined the lis a couple of years ago, I posted the list
of recommended tools from one of my Sprite manuals (I've lost that
list - anyone have archives back that far).  The list was quite long,
and seemed likely to fill the boot of a Bugeye.  The list of entries
included "soft iron wire" and something to the effect of "sticky
caulking substance" ... obviously Britishese for baling wire and
chewing gum.
