Back on the air...

My net access was rather rudely interrupted at the end of May when Alliant
shut down operations and laid everyone off. As of this week I am working
at Sun Microsystems in Billerica MA and now have access to british cars
mail again. It is good to get some brit cars mail after such a dry spell!

I drove the TR250 to work today. Driving top down in nice weather sure makes
the commute more enjoyable. There was a point a few weeks ago when the TR
was my only operating vehicle and I used it as my sole transportation for
a few days. The VW was down and out with problems in the fuel pump electrics.
I was driving the truck into town to pick up some things at the hardware store
when all of a sudden it started running *very* rough. I turned around and
parked it in the driveway and took the TR instead. Later inspection revealed
no compression in #1. Looks like the truck is going to be down a while.
The following day I drove all over Southern New Hampshire trying to get the
parts that I needed to fix the VW. It was warm and sunny and it turned out
to be a good excuse to cruise around with the wind in my hair listening to
the exhaust note.

I'm glad I bumped into several of you at British Cars Day in Brookline a couple
of weeks ago. I was lucky to have made it to the show. My "replace front brake
pads" task turned into "rebuild front calipers" quickly and I got it back
together just in time. Unfortunately, the master cylinder is acting like it
wants to be rebuilt too. I better do it before it complains *too* hard. ;^)

I hope I didn't miss too much while I was gone.
