Hi all.

Speaking of dipsticks, would anybody happen to have a tranny dipstick for my
'74 MGB? Or, at the very least, would some kind soul pass along the measure-
ments so i could fashion a makeshift one? It makes me ancy, driving without
knowing the oil level in my gearbox.

Also, any words of wisdom about oil consumption? The B uses a good bit of oil,
but it's not leaking (no oil puddles when parked), and the exhaust is clean
while driving. Not a big problem, but I do have to keep an eye on the dipstick,
and top up frequently.

I'm new around here. Nice digest. Is there an FAQ?

In fact, I'm relatively new to British Car ownership, having hauled mom's B
from Fresno, California to the sunny Mississippi Gulf Coast (I bought it from
her for $1, but the Volvo broke down in Seligman, Arizona for 6 days - any
sympathy is _greatly_ appreciated) just this past July.  92K miles; 1 owner;
all original; no rust; a few carb troubles at first, but I got 'em licked;
presently my daily driver.
