It sounds like it is running a little rich especially if the plugs are wet and
compression is ok.  I am not familiar with the solex carbs yet so someone else
will have to tell you if you need smaller jets or different carb adjustment.
If a plug replacement cures it temporarily then plugs are fouled by the fuel or
you are burning too much oil and fouling that way.  If it is fuel, smaller jets
should make it better for lower RPM but it may suffer some at higher RPM.
If you have good compression, there could be a valve seal problem and sucking 
oil
there.  Is there any smoke out the exaust?  You may not be able to tell this
yourself.  Have someone follow you and then do a short full throttle run.  Smoke
should be a little black.  If you coast in gear, like down a hill, then hit the
throttle, do you get smoke there?  If blue smoke, then you have some oil burning
Are the other plugs tan on the porcelain?
