All,
I am sure people are already getting sick of this thread and this will be
the last time I write about it. Like Dave (great last name) Murphy said,
this story just doesn't ring true to me. I tried to be objective about it
and there are several points to bring up.
First off, if I bought a car from someone and was told "I have restored
seats worth 1650.00 at Ross's place..." My response would be "I am not
buying the car from Ross, I am buying it from YOU." "Before any money
changes hands, I need you to contact Ross and get the seats shipped to me."
Second, as Dave said Ross never acknowledged the fact that the seats were at
his shop in the September 7th email. Ross is a vendor. When he gets an email
from someone, he looks for contexts that relate to something he can sell, in
this case a KA24 mounting kit and a wiring harness. Chances are, he just
ignored the blah blah blah and looked for a sale. Who could blame him? It's
his business. Can any of us remember the context of an email we got six
months ago?
Third, Greg Burrows made it sound as if the seats belonged to him. Sorry,
but Ross made the deal to recover the seats with the P.O., not Greg. Greg is
out 0$ in this transaction. Ross should not have to be in charge of keeping
track of whose stuff belongs to whom in his shop.
Fourth, the gap between September and March Puzzles me. Why so long? If I
had a pair of seats completely restored I valued at 1650.00 they would be
under my control. Who knows how long Ross had these seats before he sold
them? There are just too many questions and holes in this story to judge it
completely which is why I was against its posting. We all tend to skew the
facts when looking to assign blame to others or absolve ourselves of same.
