1 - beating up the gas tank could loosen years of crud, and I've heard of
more than one roadster owner w/ "crud" problems (me included!) Better to
get that fixed eventually. In the long term, if it's really bad, it may wear
the tank itself ( I doubt that would happen tho')
2 - No actually cool air & cool gas are the prescription for better
combustion - ever see the "cool cans" on hot rods ? Thats why. BUT - I
don't think your resonator is gonna heat up the gas that bad - most of the
heat gets dissappated on the way out the pipe, and two.... hello... you live
in the worl'd largest convection oven. That gas is gonna warm no matter what.
I spose that a constant temp is gonna be better than a fluctuating one.
In other words.... you're gonna wanna fix that, but you'll be OK for now.
