I'm new to the list, new to roadsters (just bought one last week:
SPL311-00799), and don't know anyone other than what I've read on this list
and 311s.org. My impression is that Mr. Murphy is one of those people who
inadvertantly strikes people the wrong way. Unfortunately, Andrew (again,
just my impression) seems to have a thinner skin than most. I do not
disagree with him defending himself, but he also seems to not be able to let
go -- and has to get in the last word (which I can identify with! <g>)
That all said, if you strip out the commentary, I find he has posted a
wealth of information and clearly is a dedicated Datsun roadster enthusiast.
It would be a shame to alienate that resource.

List, I don't know if anyone would consider me as impartial, but I read
every response to Andrew's "Over Rev" story and failed to find even a single
item that could be mistaken as a personal attack. I any of the responders
feel bad that they might have step on his toes, Don't bother. You pointed
out an obvious discrepancy with his story, that his rev limiter did nothing
in the case of his bad downshift. This is an Auto enthusiast forum, we
discuss things of this subject. That IS what we do here.
Andrew, I've appreciated your contribution to the roadster community both in
the local SoCal scene and the worldwide roadster list. You've done good
things. Thank you.
