I echo the sentiments of most of the people who have already responded to this
thread. If you can get them for roughly $60.00 for each upper and lower (about
$240 per full set + shipping), then sign me up. Having a roadster with about
90K miles on it, I'm sure I will need those eventually. His is, of course,
given my plan to have this on the road for a very long time. With the
replacement of engines and various other alternative parts, I think the best
way to keep these on the road is to look objectively at what moving parts can
go bad and simply replace (or have replacements for) those.

BTW, I - of course, support our vendors and have many times. This is one area
where they may not have the contacts or desire to spearhead this venture. Not
intending to be disrespectful at all, they do a great job at simply keeping and
supplying parts for these - it's simply a question of availability.

I am fully supportive of our vendors. I think they do a super job and they
are honorable men.

However, if this ball joint venture would work out, I don't see this as
snubbing the vendors, I just see it as a good 'ole 18th century exercise in
co-op economics brought up to date with the internet serving as the
community thread.

I've already received several responses voicing interest. A few have
expressed Pete's opinion that there are a whole lot of roadsters running
around that could use some ball joints - if the price were right.

Let me know!

My question would be what are the odds that my ball joints need replacing?
Currently not running (blocked - no emergency brake - on inclined driveway),
so cannot do the suspension check on 311s.org;

.

Heck, is there -ANY- roadster (other than the one w/ less than 10k original
miles that you have packed in cosmoline in a barrel in a barn) that does
-NOT- need the ball joints replaced?

That said, if we get 'em for less than 1/2 current price, then I'll
tentatively say "me interested."

[snip]

If you were convinced the parts were quality parts, can I get a quick,
non-binding count of who on the list would be interested in submitting an
order for a full set (two upper and two lower) of ball joints?.
