Yes, they are made in Taiwan. The difference seems to be that the little 
engagement
dogs are thinner. I don't object to our suppliers having things made in Taiwan
because our quantities are very low and tooling costs relatively high, but at 
least
they could be dimensionally correct. Hey, you want to hear improperly made parts
stories? Here are the ones I've run into during the past one year:

New water pump - oversize casting interfered with inside of pulley
new oil pump rebuild kit - .002 longer than the cavity - won't turn
new rocker cover gasket made from material only half as thick
new SU jets drilled to .090 instead of .100
new aluminum water pump pulley with inside boss with inside boss too thick and 
OD
too big
new $400 header that takes four hours' work to make it fit

........and would you believe this one from about a year ago -- rod bearings not
the size it said on the box -- and also mis-stamped. Good thing I measure those
babies
