It's tough to influence an automaker, as it is to influence any business
decisionmaker, because they see the hidden complexities and realities of
their business--and it's always very different from how it looks from the
outside. Of course given the independent and staunchly unorganized nature of
this group (one of it's most valuable traits) I doubt we could or would
present a united opinion, but if a group such as FOT would truly like to
show an affirmative interest it would be most effective to focus.

I doubt that BMW would revive Triumph in even same manner as they did the
mini. That was unbelievably risky. It's amazing that they did it, and even
more amazing that it worked. But the mini is a single model with variations.
Suggesting that they come out with a multi-model line based on a nostalgia
platform seems almost completely out of the question. It's an order of
magnitude more impossible than the mini.

If I were looking at this as a marketing strategist, getting paid for my
opinion, I'd have to focus on the TR2/3. Even though the Spit sold better
and the TR6 is more recognizable to younger buyers. Neither has the unique
and iconic appearance of the TR3. That's what enables a successful nostalgia
play.

I admire the scope of your vision, Rocky, but dreaming big is what one does
personally, to have a great life. Business regrettably is usually about
focus. Which is why business is almost never as much fun as racing.
