Actually, if you look at the prices for a set of liners and pistons (vs.
either alone) they are a lot less than a hundred bucks each for the
liners. I'm not sure, but I assume Ken's liners are made by L.A. Sleeve.
They make a lot of liners of all kinds including motorcycle
applications. They've been around in one guise or another for probably
fifty years. I used their liners in 50cc Grand prix bikes and the stock
frame 350cc drag racing record holder bike almost 40 years ago.
Cast pistons and liners are $500 a set, forged are more, but unless 4
new cast pistons are less than a hundred bucks we've already got some
pretty cheap sleeves. I never understand what a current dollar is worth
because things are so skewed by low grocery prices, K-Mart and Wal-Mart,
but when I'm making a rough estimate of prices to an era I
understand--like late sixties/early seventies I use a factor of ten as a
thumb rule. That makes current sleeve prices less than ten bucks in 1968
dollars (when I earned $200 a week and was proud of it).
I'm never one to rain on another person's parade, I say go for it Joe,
but I don't see how you could make a nickel at it. So do it for the
intellectual challenge.

I am no where near to identifying cost or price, as it is just something

want to do, especially if no one else is doing it. I was thinking $50
