I'll second that, Teriann. Fascinating book and well worth the time. One
further note, either on the FOT or someplace else awhile back, mention was
made of "knock-off" -AN fittings that failed. It is worth the extra bit to
get branded fittings such as Aeroquip or XRP so that you know what you are
getting. Don't necessarily get the cheapest ones you can find.

I very highly recommend a book titled:

Carroll Smith's Nuts, bolts, fasteners and plumbing Handbook" MBI
Publishing Company, copyright 1990.

Reading it convinced me that I was just the rawest neophyte when it came
to the subjects and half of everything I had been told wasn't correct.
The book takes some effort to wade through but it is more than worth the
effort.

Teriann
