And then ... when I married for the second time....
She told me how much her ex smoked, three packs a day. I'd quit smoking some
five years earlier. So I added up how much he pent on cigarettes a year and
it came out to about what I was spending on my race car (Spitfire).
Definitely I got the better deal.
But I guess I really wasn't spending THAT much back then. I was only
autocrossing it at the time and I wasn't all that fast. Explained that to
her on a date one time. Her response; "You need to spend more on the car."
Yeah, I had to marry that one! :-D 23 years next month. (And look what a
3-pack-a-day habit costs today!)
Yes, if we can afford it, she gets pretty much what she wants. (And she's
reasonable. And supportive.)
