I once installed a custom radiator in another old car. The new radiator was e=
xtra thick with many rows of fins and tubes, replacing an old =E2=80=9Choney=
comb=E2=80=9D style radiator. It turns out that this extra thick ( about 3 i=
nches) core was very restrictive on air flow compared to the original honeyc=
omb. The car overheated on the highway, something it never did before. As wi=
th the TR, the radiator fan was not shrouded.=20
So, I wonder if the new radiator is thick enough to reduce air flow compared=
to the original? That could cause operating temperature to rise.
