Ah that may work but there is more than one reason to run a shroud. You do=
not want any more air than necessary under the hood. It has to find an ex=
it out, no small task, and it produces drag among other things. If you use=
a well-designed shroud you can then tape the nose on a very cold race day =
to bring temps up and to reduce drag even more. It=E2=80=99s the way they =
do it on all modern race cars, only enough air in for systems, no more. On=
my TR I pick up the air for carbs through a K&N air filter inside the shro=
ud (behind grill) and in front of radiator. You get cold air to Weber=E2=
=80=99s through filter, down the air pipe and into a sealed plenum box for =
the carbs. Have run this setup at well over 100 F with no overheating.

I disagree on this, I never ran a shroud. Certainly it does help=E2=80=A6.b=
ut my cooling system is so over the top that I need to run a thermostat to =
get it to operation temperature or I see 160F.

On the photo you see the ready to race configuration.

Radiator shroud intact? That's kind of vital.

My TR4 temperature is nailed to 185F and don=E2=80=99t move away from=E2=80=

I use:

1. Good aluminum radiator
2. Blocked small circuit
3. Automatic bleeding system
4. 7 blade pump
5. Smaller drive pulley to lower water pump speed

Yeah, that was my thought.

Besides that, I use a thermostat in my TR4.
