Hi Mark,
1.The armacord liner goes over the bulkhead grommet assemblies. Simply cut a
small X where the cable goes through. That's all the factory seemed to do.
2.Look at all the pieces and note that there are raw unbound eges and there
are bound edges. The unbound edges go in first in all cases, because the
pieces with the bound edges will go over the unfinished ones to give a
totally bound appearance. Therefore, the curved wheel arch pieces and the
battery cable bulkhead piece will go in before the side bulkhead pieces,
etc.
3. Sounds like you still have the original BJ8 wood block. It seems they
were installed to go along with the long narow 12V battery originally fitted
to these cars. All earlier cars had the thinner piece. You'll note that you
have a choice of 2 pairs of holed brackets to fit the J bolts through. Use
the ones to suit your block and battery size.
