As a long time member of the AHCA (22yrs), National Street Rod
Association (33yrs), and Antique Automobile Club of America (18yrs). I
gotta say this. I've always found it odd that there were three national
Healey clubs. The Austin Healey clubs need to merge into the Austin
Healey Club of North America. Set it up the same as the AACA. Geographic
regions each host a National Meet and use the season and weather to the
advantage of spreading them out over the year. Same activities, same
judging, flea market etc. Then there's the Grand National Meet, driving
tours and local club shows. All scatered around the country and the
calendar. NSRA same thing, north, south, east, west, mid-America and a big
National in Louisville. These clubs have clout when it comes to
legislation simply because of the size of the membership. Street rodders
in most states enjoy a special registration and inspection system for
modified vehicles thanks to countless hours of work by the NSRA over the
years. The blanket of national affiliation can only help in the
production of events and, one would think, the cost of insurance would
consolidate for the clubs. AACA and NSRA put out a great magazine and
provide coverage for regional as well as local shows and events.
Everyone getting the same book and information without having to be in
separate clubs makes too much sense. The member dues would be including
local and national membership same as always. Encounter, Conclave,
Rendevous and maybe an additional regional would offer the same events
as always, and include the gold level judging or what ever important
aspects a National event would warrant. Each region could rotate turns
at hosting the National Meet as part of a combined event, or a central
National event like NSRA has in Louisville would be an option with each
region pitching in to help. This would afford a National type meet near
enough for most members to attend one.

Thanks for your time,
