I have driven my '67 BJ8 thousands of miles and almost 10 years with a
"custom" exhaust system created by a local muffler shop. Stock headers to
standard flex-pipes to "glass pax" type mufflers to straight pipes to a
standard looking "kick-up" at the rear. Mufflers and pipes and tips all
coming down the left side of the car in the original position, but no turn
to run across the rump of the car for a RH exit. No popping and backfiring,
beautiful mellow sound, very close to what I remember from the originals
that I had in the sixties.
