I wouldn't have put it quite so vehemently, but I'd have to agree with Rich.
I'm sure the ends will screw off. May be on ridiculously(!) tight, but I've
not seen a Champion plug where the end didn't screw off.

That's ridiculous. Champion N11Y and N12Y use exactly the same screw on ends

as far as I've ever seen.
