The system will draw coolant back into the system from the expansion tank
only if the end of the hose is submerged in coolant, either because it
enters the tank from the bottom or from the top in which case, as Kimo
points out, the hose clamps must be tight so that the vacuum created within
the radiator is preserved in order to draw liquid.
