If you mean that the wheel can be tilted up/down side/side it sounds like
the hub is loose on the halfshaft spline. The only fasteners behind the wire
wheel are the nuts holding the drum/hub/bearing carrier together, and they
won't help if this is the case.
This type of rear axle is described as 'semi-floating': the wheel bearing
carries the vertical load (weight of the car) but can't control the wheel in
the tilt mode. The halfshaft is a long lever carrying bending loads to
resist the wheel tilting due to cornering forces.The hub should be a press
fit (several tons, I think) onto the halfshaft splines, and if it isn't, the
wheel can wobble.
I don't know of any real way to repair that play: replacement is the only
option I would consider.
Remember it's only money.
