Dear All
some feed back on clutch adjustment for a late model TC is needed.
The problem is that the clutch engages (and rather aggressively) at almost the
last inch or so of pedal travel. If you have the engine revs up to high when
the clutch begins to engage in first gear then the engine shudders until the
revs drop off. The clutch appears not to slip, and definitely is tamer when
the car has been driven a few miles. When fully depressed to the floor it is
completely disengaged with no problems moving up or down between gears. It
only takes about 2 inches of depressing the pedal to feel that the clutch is
disengaged from the fly wheel.
Presently the pedal has at least 1 inch free play before the clutch pressure
is felt
I am used to a clutch that begins to engage a lot sooner off the floor, and
not the near the end of the pedal travel. I don't know if this may be an
adjustment issue or the tell tale indicator to a mechanical problem.
If adjustment is recommended in the first instance, any suggestions or
procedure to follow would be appreciated.

Thanks

Tim Newton
