Hi Bill,
The plates are attached in my car, TD3 22308, with oval head screws.
These are plated brass, but I cannot tell if the plating was once shiny
or dull chrome at this age. The the oval head is slightly flatter than
we find on American screws; I doubt that anyone would notice.
