RE: Attachment of TD Threshold Plates

I have considered the possibility of glueing the plates to the sills with a
thick layer of some some kind of silicone. This would allow for a better fit
to the not always flat threshold surface.

Any comment on that method?

Blake is right, as usual.  They're secured by screws, not nails.
