The tank in our TD had several rust holes in it that I had to repair
when I restored the car.
You are correct, the pressure of pumps in series is additive. Put since
the pumps rarely deliver the maximum pressure Having a low pressure SU
pump (rated at 1.5 PSI, but usually running at 0.75 PSI) and a Facet
pump running at the low end of the rated range (2.5 - 4 PSI), would only
give 4 PSI at the carburetor, which is not high enough to cause a problem.
