Although I usually agree with the advice about rubber brake hoses (and
if you haven't replaced them lately, you should) but Todd may be right
if this only occurred after the MC replacement. Besides checking the
stop light switch, I would make sure there isn't some reason the pushrod
from the clutch pedal isn't binding. Isn't there a brake return spring?
You did reinstall it? It doesn't take much pressure on the MC input to
cause this problem.
Older cars ('A's, bug Healeys) had adjustable pushrods between the MC
and the pedal and this was a common feature when they got overtightened.
Your test drive should include a lot of gentle brake stops.
I didn't catch what year Midget. Power brake booster on late models?
Make sure that it isn't helping you with the problem.
I guess the hard part of this deal is getting a repeatable test.
