Water Pump Woes

I finally got my water pump (via the USPS) today.  The water pump that
was on the car measured 3" from the mounting surface to the pulley disc.
The pump VB sent measures 4".  I remember this happening the last time
I got a water pump locally.
 
Are there any part suppliers out there that would take the time to
measure their pumps?  The car is a 70 MGB with an 18GH engine.  I will
need to reorder the pump and the first supplier with the correct info
wins!
