Thanks to everybody who replied to my query regarding the junk mail issue.
The most logical explanation seems to be that my name got snagged my
mailers from a "use group." I had posted a couple of messages on a couple
of newsgroups to try to find a used power adaptor for my Dell notebook
(NL25C, in case anybody knows where I can get an adaptor).
I've been surfing the web for two years and haven't had the junk problem.
I've only posted recently to a news group.
So, there you have it!!
If you want junk mail: post a message to a use group. Or post the message
and ignore the junk mail.
