Rest assured, you're not crazy. You are embarking on an adventure to
bring home a new friend.
Rust on the passenger side in front of the trunk--rust is rust, and you
will probably find more of it. Look carefully under the floor mats when
you get it home, inside the front fenders at the headlights and at the
back where they join the body.
These are not complicated vehicles. WIth the help of the Official
Workshop Manual (a/k/a Bentley) and the Haynes book, you're off to a good
start. Lindsay Porter's book is one to suggest for a present along with
John Twist's technical book.
Hope the Ranger does the job you want, because it's going to be
difficult to tow it with the MG.
