Wow! A great LBC Saturday. Besides the productive visit to MG T's to get
my carbs looked at (earlier post), I had a great time driving and looking
at LBCs. Didn't see any on the road, but here's what happened.

On the kind invite of David Deutsch, took a run out to Long Island to see
David and look at cars. This is probably a trip of about 50 miles or so
one way from NJ straight through midtown Manhattan to Dave's in Long
Island. Car ran like a champ and what a joy that is!

While in the middle of Manhattan I got a pedestrian crossing the street
behind my car hailing me and giving me a "great car, man". Nice to be
appreciated, eh? :)
Over to Dave's at 50-55 depending on speed limit and run nicely at 3000 rpm.

Arrive at Dave's and take a look at his nice Bs and the "I'll get this
running this summer" Austin A95. What a kick. I especially liked the
looks of Dave's red B with white cloth top and the performance of the BRG
'77B. Damn thing was rock steady at .... well, let's just say it was
motoring along nicely. :) He's made some modification which you all know
about already or he can tell you about sometime. Better the owner than I
is my feeling.

Buzzed around to some of Dave's friends. Saw a BRIGHT yellow GT being
prepped as a racer. I saw the shell and the engine block. I think the
yellow is a race tactic. If you're following this car you're likely to be
blinded so badly you'd have to slow down to control your car.

Also saw a pristine '79 Midget in beautiful blue and a TD restoration
project that I'd love to own someday. Fat chance. :)

Lastly saw the bare metal, sanded MGA project of another of Dave's pals.
Enthusiasm of the owner was infectious and I can see this is a guy who is
going to love driving his completed work of art.

Back to Dave's to pick up my car and the trip home. At the gas station had
two attendants ogling the car. Neither spoke very good English so I'm not
sure of all they said, but they were evidently appreciative. :) One
recognized it straight away as English.

Back into the driveway at about 9:00pm. All in all, a great LBC day.
Thanks Dave.
