You might try calling Proper MG (or anyone else selling new hardtops) and
ask how they ship them and what it costs.  You could also check to see if
anyone is shipping a large car from MI to OK and offer to share the cost if
you can put the top in their car.  Maybe there's a bus or train that might
cost less; $750 sounds high; for that much you could almost fly up and
bring it back as checked luggage (put it in a box and tell the airline it's
a bicycle).

You could always drive up to get it, but then you'd have to use the hardtop
on the ride home, so that might not work either.
