Bud, I'm assuming you have an aftermarket 3 into 1 header. Those are, for the
most
part, junk. I'd suggest that, for the short term, have your favorite muffler
shop
just weld in a new pipe. Then I would look for the stock cast manifold for an
earlier (pre-74 1/2) 'B'. Maybe some of the used purveryors can provide you one
as
they are not avilable new, I don't believe. Unlike many of the later manifolds,
they
are not as likely to be cracked.

Alternatively, the Falcon 1 3/4 stainless header as pictured in the VB catalog
($229.95) is the right configuration for the MGB. The Peco system is okay but
2" and
is too much for a stock motor.

You would then also buy a new stock intermediate pipe (and hardware) and go
back to
the muffler shop and weld it into the system. It is really hard to beat the
stock
cast manifold and stock intermediate pipe as it is a properly desgined LCB (Long
Center Branch) exhaust system which works well with the simesed exhaust ports.

As long as I am spouting my opinion, if you have the muffler shop install a
whole
new system, use 1 3/4 (but not more than 1 7/8) exhaust pipe. Any larger and you
lose low-end torque. Also, I'd recommend the muffler shop to put in two cheap
glasspacks that have 2" in/out. Use the longest glasspack that will fit under
the
car (30") and then use whatever length will easily fit out back next to the gas
tank
(20"). You will have a low, mellow, sound with minimal back pressure.
