I am just in the process of taking the dash off of my 67 also. I ran
into the same road block. Be very carefull with the temp sensor, it is a
permanently connected ether filled tube running to the block. You need
to remove it from the block at the connection just below the thermostat.
when you are turning the outside nut on it make sure that the line is
not turning also. If it is you need to grab the trusty PB blaster spray
the area and tap it on the outside of the housing..... That is as far as
I have gotten as I am letting it soak for a day or two while it is down
at the body shop waiting for it's turn. Let me know what lessons you
learn as you progress.
