Andrew,
        Another $.02 worth is that here in the Bay Area, snow below 3,000
feet is very rare, and occurs about once every 10 years.  Occasionally we
get a really cold snap, but it's not something you're going to need often,
unless you make a habit of going to the Sierras' in your MG.      Nina
