This subject brings up a question since I'm going to get new tires by spring.
I have a 79 rubber bumper and do not have overdrive. I do some 70 MPH +
highway driving so I want as tall a tire as I can to get as many MPH per RPM
as I can. The previous owner put 185/60's on it and although they are nice
tires they are much shorter and much slower at highway speeds. I switched
these to my 78 - more of a daily around town runner. Thus the new tires for
the 79 - I would like to keep with a wider tire but I'm afraid if I get too
big a 60 series (to gain height) they'll be rubbing somewhere else. I have
stock rostyle wheels - can anyone tell me the biggest probable 65 or 70 series
tire I can both fit on these wheels and fit on the car without rubbing?
