GT windscreens seem to be more prone to this than roadsters - not sure
why - 
New windscreens are not exhorbitantly expensive(about $170 list) and you
will need a new seal anyway so if you are getting a parts car for that
sort of price its a bargain anyway!! - snap it up !
Installing GT windscreens is not especially difficult....... until you
come to reinstalling the trim which is up there on the "ten worst" jobs -
buy a LOT of plastic crochet hooks and put aside at least eight hours for
the job!!
