First,
The guy didn't have an o/d gearbox in his B, just the standard 4-speed.  He 
either didn't have access to an o/d box, didn't like the LH style o/d, or 
just wanted to do something a little different.  I have no idea which.  But, 
he ended up with a good cruising gear which was the goal.  Personally, I've 
put lots of o/d boxes (both D type and LH) into cars and just love em!  Go 
Figure!
