Yeah, I thought a bit more about that after I pushed "send".

Seems that if it is only #2, and it is intermittent, that it's gotta be the
distributor cap, the plug wire or the spark plug.

Pull the plug wire off the spark plug, replace the spark plug with a screw
driver.  Hold the plastic handle of the screw driver and hold the shank of
the screw driver about 1/4 inch from the engine block.  Crank the engine and
check for spark.  If you have spark then do the same thing but use the plug
instead of the screwdriver (use insulated pliers to hold the wire/spark
plug).  When this technique was last mentioned on this list someone
suggested you don't lean against the car while doing this.  Good idea.

Another thing is to try is to swap plugs around and see if the problem
moves.
