I get this all the time, but am surprised that it happens with MGs.
Many times when using my TVR or one of my Jensens, some idiot comes up with
the old 'Who makes it" line. Sometimes I get a bit short with them, and reply
with something along the lines of "You mean who makes that Jensen?" They
respond "Yes". I then say "Well, this would just be a wild guess, but it just
might be made by JENSEN!", the latter part accompanied by a sharp increase in
volume.
Sadly, the irony and sarcasm is often lost on them, clueless bunch that they
are. I sometimes wonder if the local homes for the terminally gormless use
local car shows as outings for their charges.
I even had one notable twit stare at the Pontiac badge on my Fiero at an all
Pontiac show, and come up with the same tired old line. I told him Ferrari,
and he just nodded and wandered away (hopefully into the path of something
large and speedy, before he gets old enough to breed more mouthbreathing
idjits like himself!).
