Interesting. At the British Legends on the Lawn show last weekend in
Whippany NJ, Richard Miller, Director of MG Drivers Club, gave a lecture on
MG history where he mentioned that BMW, upon selling the Range Rover to Ford,
arranged the sale so that the MG Rover Car Company could never manufacture a
4 wheel drive SUV-type vehicle that would compete with the Range Rover. He
essenatialy said there wouldn't (couldn't) be an MG or Rover SUV.
