I love this discussion. The above is what I was taught, except I am so old
that I was taught that the color of the middle light is "amber" not yellow.
And in NYC they had only two colors, red and green (with some overlap) Of
course 5th Avenue  had traffic signals back then with bronze Mercury
Statutes on top... now I have really deviated from the subject.
